How would you use a blog?

Educational Leaders that are not currently using blogs are already behind the game play. There are so many blogs for them to use it is absolutely unbelievable. In fact, the task will not be how or way to use them but how can I select the ones most beneficial to me as an Educational Leader in my school. My analysis of how an educational Leader could use a blog would start with be able to establish a network of other professionals that I could use to share ideas, gather best practices and inquire as to how/what do you think about this issue/topic.
